BYU Hockey's Summer Camp provides a comprehensive training program, which helps young players to learn individual skills, team skills, and team strategy. Each session builds on earlier sessions and includes a blend of on-ice instruction, chalk-talk and off-ice training.

The 2012 Summer Camp is directed by BYU Hockey Head Coach Jeremy Weiss and Coach & General Manager Stan Weiss.

This camp serves as an excellent "tune-up" for the upcoming season for all levels of players! Sessions will take you systematically through the following progression of skills:

  • Individual Skills-Players will be schooled through a carefully designed progression of drills, emphasizing powerskating, edge control, puck-handling, passing, and checking.
  • Team Skills-Emphasis will be placed on reading and reacting techniques as well as multiple player timing development.
  • Team Systems-Players will be taught the basics of breakout systems, neutral zone transitions, and offensive attack options.

Note

Participants MUST bring the following equipment to camp: skates, helmet with face mask, mouth guard, elbow and shoulder pads, shin pads, hockey shorts and socks, gloves and hockey stick.
