CHECK IN BEGINS AT 8:30 AM AT THE INDOOR PRACTICE FACILITY (IPF)

Skills Camp Description

Hours are from 9:00am to 12:00PM each day.  Camp Check In 30 minutes prior to session.

Join BYU’s Head Coach Matt Schneck for two full mornings of lacrosse training at the BYU Lacrosse Winter Skills Camp! Improve your lacrosse skills with specific instruction and individual attention as you get out of the cold and train in BYU's temperature controlled Indoor Practice Facility (IPF).

Campers will be split up into different groups and different areas of BYU’s Indoor Practice Facility (IPF) based on age and skill level.

Skill Development

Throughout the camp, players will be coached on the latest techniques and fundamentals in the game of lacrosse. Specific areas that will be covered are:

·            Individual Defense

·            Team Defense

·            Shooting

·            Catching and Throwing

·            Running & Speed Development

·            And much more….

Instructional Games

Each player will be put on a team and play in these games. The goal of the games is to see the players put what they have learned throughout the camp on the field. Each game will have roaming instructors to help the players while the game is in progress

At the end of each session, players have the chance to win top-of-line lacrosse gear from Maverik Lacrosse.

Camp Director

BYU Men's Lacrosse Head Coach Matt Schneck is the camp director.  Coach Schneck is entering his 8th year as the BYU’s Head Coach and has lead the Cougars to 7 straight National Championship Tournament appearances and the Cougars are currently the reigning 2016 RMLC Champions.  Schneck was named the RMLC Coach of the Year and the Lacrosse Magazine/Jac Coyne MCLA National Coach of the Year in 2011.  Since leading the Cougars to the 2011 MCLA National Championship, Coach Schneck has now won a National Championship as a player (1997), as an Assistant Coach (2007) and as a head Coach (2011).  Schneck has coached over 100 MCLA All-America Players while head coach at BYU.
