Skills Camp Description
Join BYU’s Head Coach Matt Schneck for two full days of lacrosse training at the BYU Lacrosse Winter Skills Camp! Improve your lacrosse skills with specific instruction and individual attention as you get out of the cold and train in BYU's temperature controlled Indoor Practice Facility (IPF).
Campers will be split up into different groups and different areas based on age and skill level.
The camp runs from 9 AM - 4 PM each day. Lunch is provided each day.
Check-in begins at 8:30 AM on the first day of camp at the Indoor Practice Facility (IPF)
Throughout the camp, players will be coached on the latest techniques and fundamentals in the game of lacrosse. Specific areas that will be covered are:
· Individual Defense
· Team Defense
· Catching and Throwing
· Running & Speed Development
· And much more….
Each player will be put on a team and play in these games. The goal of the games is to see the players put what they have learned throughout the camp on the field. Each game will have roaming instructors to help the players while the game is in progress
At the end of each session, players have the chance to win top-of-line lacrosse gear.
Registration costs includes lunch each day and a BYU Lacrosse T-Shirt.
Campers are responsible to bring their own equipment. Equipment rental is available in advance: $20
BYU Men's Lacrosse Head Coach Matt Schneck is the camp director. Coach Schneck is entering his 9th year as head coach and has led the Cougars to 8 straight National Championship Tournament appearances and the Cougars are currently the reigning 2017 RMLC Champions. Schneck was named the RMLC Coach of the Year and the Lacrosse Magazine/Jac Coyne MCLA National Coach of the Year in 2011. Since leading the Cougars to the 2011 MCLA National Championship, Coach Schneck has now won a National Championship as a player (1997), as an Assistant Coach (2007) and as a head Coach (2011). Schneck has coached over 100 MCLA All-America Players while head coach at BYU.
