Winter Tennis Clinics Are Now Full

The BYU Winter Tennis Clinics are run under the direction of Head Men's Tennis Coach, Brad Pearce.  As a professional tennis player, coach Pearce was a Wimbledon singles quarter-finalist and has also been named the PTR National Collegiate Coach of the Year.

These clinics are essentially "organized practice sessions" involving live-ball drilling and situational competitive play in a structured environment.  Both Clinic I and Clinic 2 are recommended for players that can serve, return and rally on a consistent basis. They are not designed for players who have never played tennis or cannot rally on a consistent basis.

There will be very limited personalized instruction given, although participants will receive "pointers" on the fundamentals of stroke production and competitive play. On the days that Coach Pearce is unable to attend due to university business (team competition, recruiting, etc), members of his staff will supervise.

Both Clinic I and Clinic II have a capacity of 16 participants with a ratio of 4 players per court.  Emphasis will be placed on consistency, control and placement during live-ball drills and competitive play.

Clinic I is held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays beginning Monday, October 31st and ending Wednesday, December 21st at the BYU indoor courts from 4:30 - 6:00 pm (Exception: During Thanksgiving week the Wednesday session will be from 8-9:30 AM and there will not be a Friday session).  Additionally, Monday, December 19th and Wednesday, December 21st will be held from 8 - 9:30 AM.

Clinic II is held Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays beginning Tuesday, November 1st and ending Thursday, December 22nd at the BYU indoor courts.  The Tuesday and Thursday sessions will be held from 4:30 - 6:00 pm and the Saturday sessions will be held from 8:00 - 9:30 am (Exception: No clinic will be held on Thanksgiving day).  Additionally, Tuesday, December 20th and Thursday, December 22nd will be held from 8-9:30 AM.

Registration will close when the first 16 in each clinic are registered. A participant may register for both clinics provided there are still spots available.

BYU Sports Camps are open to any and all entrants, limited only by age, gender, and space in the camp.
